Sara Goldie
HEAD COACH

Coach Sara Goldie is entering her 9th
year of coaching high school girls' basketball. Coach Goldie grew up in the
Redmond area and is a graduate of Eastlake High School (sorry!). Here high
school team placed 5th and 8th in the state tournament her junior and senior
years. Coach Goldie also lettered in Volleyball at Eastlake. Sara attended the
University of Washington and received a degree in Economics. After working in
the business world for a year, Coach Goldie quickly discovered that her place
was teaching kids and coaching basketball. Coach Goldie had many amazing coaches
over the years and is so happy to be giving back and teaching life lessons
through sports. Coach Goldie believes that most all of her success has come from
the lessons she learned while she was a student athlete. She believes that the
gym is the best place to learn those life lessons. Coach Goldie is extremely
passionate about the game of basketball, as she has been around the game since
she was a little girl. Growing up in a basketball family where both of her
parents played basketball on the National Team back home, she cannot remember a
time where she was not involved in basketball and still loves every second of
it! More than basketball Sara loves to work with young women. She feels lucky to
be able to be a part of these kid's lives and always hopes to be a part of her
former player's lives as well. Coach Goldie's coaching career began in 1997 when
she coached the Evergreen Jr High girl's basketball team. From there she became
the Varsity Assistant at Eastlake High School for two years before returning to
school to become a PE teacher. While attending Central Washington University she
joined the coaching staff at East Valley-Yakima where she was part of two state
appearances placing 4th and 5th respectively. When she returned to the area,
Sara joined the Redmond High coaching staff under Coach Pat Bangasser for one
season. The last three seasons Sara has been the Varsity Assistant at Eastlake
High School, where she coached the first team back to State since she played for
Eastlake herself. She is thrilled to be back at RHS. Sara is a teacher at
Inglewood Junior High, teaching Health and PE. Sara has been married to her
amazingly supportive husband Sean for four years. You might catch Sean changing
a diaper in the stands or warming a baby bottle. He makes a great Mr. Mom while
Sara is busy coaching away. Sean and Sara welcomed their first child, baby boy
Payton last June and love every minute of being new parents. Coach Goldie is
looking forward to a season full of success, hard work, dedication, and team
bonding. Some of Coach Goldie's hobbies include: traveling, spending time with
family, and her favorite...shopping! Go Mustangs!.

ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
Jane Todd
PRINCIPAL
Dear Mustang Fans:
It is a pleasure and an honor for me to watch our teams play, just as it is
for me to serve as your principal. While it is clear we have talented coaches
and athletes, it is also clear we also have something not everyone can lay claim
to: Heart. We do not give up. We do not think in terms of “also ran.” We do
not accept defeat, when it comes, as an end, but as a chance to prove ourselves
as champions the next time around. We are good teammates, honorable competitors
and good sports.
Under the direction of our new Athletic Director, John Appelgate, our
Activity Coordinator, Ross Johnson, and with the help of our Leadership students
and Super Fans, we have created a slogan to live by: It’s R time. What that
means to us is Respect (be classy); Responsibility (model good behavior);
Recognition (celebrate our teams); Rowdy (be loud, have fun!); and Represent (we
are Redmond!)
We want to be the fans that gain the attention of the press and public for
always taking the high road. We want to impress (and maybe intimidate just a
little) our opponents with our positive attitude, our creative and energetic
cheering, our synchronized and color-coordinated support of our athletes. We
invite our parent and community fans to both support us and join with us in this
endeavor. Because, of course, we ROCK. Go ‘Stangs!
