HEAD COACH
Coach Barashkoff has been coaching basketball for over 25 years. He started out coaching in city leagues, CYO, AAU, Boys and Girls clubs, and select programs. He has attended and ran multiple summer camps and has been a part of six different boys' basketball high school programs. This includes Blanchet, Edmonds-Woodway, Sammamish, Eastside Catholic, Redmond, and Franklin high schools. That is three different leagues; Wesco, Kingco, Metro at the 3A and 4A levels. He has been a scout, freshman coach, JV, varsity assistant and varsity coach. Four of the Six programs went to state appearances while he was a coach there. One included a state championship; two of which he was the head coach. He also assisted one year at the collegiate level for Womens' Basketball at Northwest University. He is the father of four children. He and his wife both teach at Redmond. Mrs. Barashkoff is the boys and girls swim coach at Redmond. Coach Barashkoff loves sports and still coaches some of his children's teams. Now, he is ready and excited to be coaching high school again. He wants to restore the legacy of Redmond Girls basketball. He promises that his teams are always competitive and entertaining to watch. Look for some tenacious defense and transition offense. See Coach Barashkoff's outlook on the 2010-2011 squad. Katya Case ASSISTANT COACH
Katya Case played four years of varsity basketball at Enumclaw High School. In her senior year, she led them to a state appearance. Katya chose to become a golf assistant pro instead of playing collegiate hoops. However, this did not diminish her love of the game of basketball and her desire to coach at the high school level. Her parent's are both teachers and her dad has coached abroad and at the high school level. She wants to carry on her family tradition of coaching and we more than welcome her to our program. Katja will be coaching the JV and assisting the varsity. Shennae McNairy ASSISTANT COACH
Shennae McNairy played four years of high school basketball at Juanita and Lake Washington High School. Her skills were good enough to get her a scholarship in both basketball and track. A two sports collegiate athlete. Shennae is the mother of three children and has always dreamed of coaching at the high school level. This season she is making that dream a reality by joining our coaching staff as the varsity assistant.

Redmond Fans: It is my pleasure to welcome you to Redmond High School Basketball 2010-2011 edition. The dedication and determination of our student athletes and coaching staff will be evident to all in attendance. As a community, we have a unique opportunity to participate in the lives of our student athletes. The athletic philosophy of RHS is three fold: a) Athletic participation is an extension of the educational process b) RHS athletes have the opportunity for improvement - academically, physically and mentally c) RHS athletes will compete with CLASS! It on this third point where you the parent, guardian, grandparent, sibling, friend or fan can model behavior consistent with the quality of the community in which we reside. Redmond coaches, athletes, and our student body constantly hear a message to be a first class individual, team and school. While we all step into the athletic arena with the intent of winning, it is a result we cannot always control. However, how we handle ourselves in the exuberance of victory, or in the despair of defeat, is determined by our own decisions. Whether the scoreboard favors the Mustangs or not, FIRST CLASS will be our character. We invite you to join us in the endeavor. We will welcome many opponents into our school this season; none will be our enemies. Our guest schools have similar players and similar fans, and the strive for the same goals we hope to achieve. They just wear a different color uniform. On behalf of Principal Jane Todd and Associate Principals Lloyd Higgins and Rebekah Westra, we thank you for your support of Redmond Athletics. We hope you enjoy the game tonight. Jane Todd
Dear Mustang Fans: It is a pleasure and an honor for me to watch our teams play, just as it is for me to serve as your principal. While it is clear we have talented coaches and athletes, it is also clear we also have something not everyone can lay claim to: Heart. We do not give up. We do not think in terms of “also ran.” We do not accept defeat, when it comes, as an end, but as a chance to prove ourselves as champions the next time around. We are good teammates, honorable competitors and good sports. Under the direction of our new Athletic Director, John Appelgate, our Activity Coordinator, Ross Johnson, and with the help of our Leadership students and Super Fans, we have created a slogan to live by: It’s R time. What that means to us is Respect (be classy); Responsibility (model good behavior); Recognition (celebrate our teams); Rowdy (be loud, have fun!); and Represent (we are Redmond!) We want to be the fans that gain the attention of the press and public for always taking the high road. We want to impress (and maybe intimidate just a little) our opponents with our positive attitude, our creative and energetic cheering, our synchronized and color-coordinated support of our athletes. We invite our parent and community fans to both support us and join with us in this endeavor. Because, of course, we ROCK. Go ‘Stangs!
